This is the Virtual Fly Brain (VFB) blog. VFB is an interactive tool for neurobiologists to explore the detailed neuroanatomy, gene expression, and associated phenotypes of the Drosophila melanogaster brain. The VFB website went live on the 28th April 2011.
The website allows you not only to search the anatomy but also to find neurons in any brain region and the information associated to them by specifying the location of synaptic terminals. Searches are also possible for gene/transgene expression or phenotypes for a specific brain region or neuron. Also possible are searches for neuron images.
